Department of Comprehensive Risk Reduction for Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases
Department of Comprehensive Risk Reduction for Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases was founded on December 02, 2013.
The Head of the Department is Doctor of Medicine Isayeva Anna Serhiivna.
The major scientific direction of the Department is primary and secondary prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases.
Achievements
As a result of scientific-research activities, the staff members of the Department published more than 70 scientific works, issued 3 monographs, 2 methodical recommendations, got 1 patent for invention, defended 1 doctoral thesis and 3 Ph.D. theses on the basis of research results. More than 15 scientific papers published abroad. The head of the department is a co-author of the National consensus on the management of patients in menopause.
The staff members of the Department proposed and introduce learning methodology for patients of the basics of medical knowledge, that increases the attachment to medical therapy and motivates them to a healthy lifestyle. The method of nutrigenetic testing is developed. Individual diet selection is based on the evaluation of polymorphisms of the genes of the receptors PPRG, ADRB2, ADRB3, FABP2.
The algorithm of examination of women with cardiovascular risk in the period of perimenopause is proposed. The influence of different steroid hormones on the body of a woman is investigated. The algorithm of hormonal therapy in the period of early menopause is proposed.
Task:
– development of modern, effective and economically feasible methods of primary and secondary prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases.
Functions:
- research practice in accordance with the requirements of evidence-based medicine;
- organization and conduct of thematic patients selection for performing scientific research;
- organization and conduct of in-depth examination of thematic patients in accordance with modern requirements and plans for research;
- carrying out consultative work in the clinic of the Institute and medical work in the department of gastroenterology and therapy;
- organization of regular publication of the results of researches in professional domestic and foreign publications;
- ensuring the presentation of research results at national and international scientific congresses, meetings, scientific and practical conferences, symposiums and round tables;
- patenting of new and effective methods of primary and secondary prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases;
- widespread introduction of research results into practice of health care in Ukraine;
- conducting sanitation and hygiene education ("health schools") among the population on issues of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases and their complications;
- development of dietary recommendations and recommendations for changing the lifestyle of patients aimed at correcting known risk factors for the development of chronic non-communicable diseases;
- carrying out nutrigenetic research, developing individualized prevention strategy.
