Galina Dmitrievna Fadieienko is a well-known therapist and gastroenterologist, follower of the Hero of Ukraine, Academician Lubov Trofimovna Malaya, a bright representative of the Kharkov Therapeutic School.
Prof. Fadieienko is The Head of the Division for the Study of the Digestive diseases and its Comorbidity with Noncommunicable Diseases, doctor of medical sciences, professor, board certified for the highest category in the gastroenterology, internal diseases.

For the first time in Ukraine, G. D. Fadieienko developed an algorithm for early noninvasive diagnostics of steatosis and steatohepatitis of non-alcoholic etiology, and proposed hematological criteria for predicting the development of fibrosis and cirrhosis of the liver in chronic hepatitis.
A wide public of scientists and doctors know the scientific work of prof. G. D. Fadieienko on the study of the pathology of digestive system, the comorbidity of diseases of the digestive system with other diseases, in particular, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ischemic disease, GERD and hypertension, GERD and obesity, GERD and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and disorders of lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis, etc.
Galina Dmitrievna instituted pharmacogenetic and nutritional research at the Institute of the Therapy, the results of which allow for an individual approach to each patient, taking into account its genetic features.
At the suggestion of Prof. Fadieienko D., the priority direction for internal medicine - prevention of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) - is directed at the development and creation of programs for individual and group prevention of NCDs for the purpose of early diagnosis of the most common NCDs, screening of patients with comorbid pathology of the therapeutic profile, followed by application differentiated preventive measures to prevent the development of complications. In 2014, prof. Fadieienko G. D. became the founder of the public organization "Association for preventive medicine".
On the initiative of D. Fadieienko, the visiting meetings of the therapeutic school of Academician L.T.Malaya in different regions of Ukraine were held, in the framework of which the development of the preventive direction is popularized.
With the support of Galina Dmitrievna, a public association "Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institutes of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" has been established and successfully operates in Kharkov.
Professor G. Fadieienko - author of more than 600 scientific works, including 38 monographs, reference books and textbooks. Scientific developments by Prof. Fadieienko are protected by patents of Ukraine and author's certificates. She obtained 35 certificates of intellectual property.
Professor G. Fadieienko takes an active part in the training of highly skilled scientific personnel. Under her guidance, 2 doctors of medical sciences, 13 candidates of medical sciences have been trained, currently continues to lead the executives of dissertation research.
Fadieienko G.D. is the founder of the gastroenterological service in the Kharkiv region, a member of the Presidium of the Board of the Association of Gastroenterologists of Ukraine and the Presidium of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Gastroenterologists, the Secretary of the Ukrainian Branch of the World Association of Gastroenterologists, the Chairman of the Kharkov Society of Gastroenterologists, a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Society of Therapists, the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian Therapeutic Journal and "Modern gastroenterology".
For many years of conscientious work and a significant contribution to the development of medical science, G.D. Fadieienko awarded the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Merits to the Ukrainian People (2013); the badge of honor "For the development of social partnership" of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (2015); the Testimonial from the Regional committee of the Kharkiv regional organization of the trade union of health workers of Ukraine (2015); the recognition certificates and diplomas from the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine for the best research work (2013, 2014, 2015); the Testimonial from the Kharkiv city mayor (2016), as well as the badge of honor from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (2016) and the medal «Labor Glory» II degree (2016); the Order of the Venerable Agapithe of the Pechersk Healer (2018).
